Am I a candidate for breast augmentation?

There are many reasons why women choose to undergo breast augmentation surgery. In our society, the desire to enhance or improve the appearance of one’s breasts is understandable because  breasts are seen as a symbol of femininity, sexuality and part of what distinguishes a man from a woman. This desire knows no boundaries. Women of all backgrounds, shapes, sizes, ethnicities and social economic status seek breast implants. When you are trying to determine if you are a candidate for breast enhancement you need to ask yourself the following question: why do I desire breast augmentation surgery? If the answer is to improve the size and shape of your breasts and you are doing it for yourself and not because of someone else, then you are most likely a candidate.

In my office there are three groups of patients who generally seek breast augmentation surgery. The first group is women who never developed the breast volume they desired. Generally, they have always been self-conscious about the size of their breasts. The second group are women who are finished having children and have found that their breasts are less full. Sometimes these women will not only need a breast augmentation but also a breast lift (mastopexy) to rejuvenate their breasts. The third group is women whose breasts are unequal in size. This group may require a combination of procedures to address their issues. Regardless of which group you are in, I am happy to report that there is a high likelihood that you will be satisfied with the results.
