Julie Stein said she never enjoyed shopping for clothes. The Alpharetta mother of two said she was very self conscious about not being able to fit into dresses and shirts.
“I always kept waiting to hit puberty and it never seemed to happen,” said Stein.
At 5-foot 3-inches tall and 105 pounds, Stein was small-framed. She wore a size AA bra and wanted to feel more feminine.
“This is a part of my body that I’m sensitive about…it’s a womanly thing,” said Stein, 40.
She started researching breast augmentation surgery – the good, the bad and everything in between. She began researching doctors, as well.
A co-worker of Stein’s couldn’t stop talking about a tummy-tuck procedure she underwent with Dr. Andrew Jimerson at Advanced Plastic Surgery Solutions in Suwanee.
“After she recommended Dr. Jimerson, I went for a consultation and learned about his background,” said Stein. “I was really impressed. He really does aim to please the patient.”
Stein went under the knife in December 2007 for breast augmentation surgery, increasing her breast size to a B-cup.
“I didn’t want melons,” she laughed. “I didn’t want to look top-heavy. Dr. Jimerson took my needs into consideration and knew that I wanted a subtle, but noticeable change.”
The outpatient breast augmentation was Stein’s first cosmetic procedure.
“I was a little nervous,” she said. “I researched a lot of information – all about what can happen, the good, the bad and the after effects of surgery. But (Dr. Jimerson) assured me of the chances of something (bad) happening was very, very low.”
Stein opted for silicone breast implants, which cost about $5,000.
“They’re more of a natural feel,” she said. “They’re soft and about as natural as you can get.”
Post-surgery, Stein said she felt pain and engorged. But with proper pain medication and a specialty post-surgical bra, she said her recovery was quick.
“I saw results pretty quickly, too,” said Stein. “Within a couple of weeks I felt much better.”
Two years after surgery, Stein said she couldn’t be happier.
“The best part was shopping for a dress for a black tie affair that I attended about a month after my surgery,” said Stein. “I wasn’t limited to what I could try on and I fit into all kinds of dresses. And, anyone that doesn’t know couldn’t guess that I’ve had surgery.”
Stein said she recommends that women who are interested in having cosmetic procedures should do their research and consult with a physician.

THE SKIN YOU’RE IN
What better way to celebrate the upcoming holiday season than giving your skin some delicious treatments. Great skin is the best accessory that you can have.
Two important areas that can be treated easily and roll back the hands of time are the neck and the eyes. Both the eyes and the neck do not have any sebaceous (oil) glands to keep fine lines and wrinkles to a minimal. For this reason these are the two areas where you will first start to show your age.
Peptides are a great way to enhance your most important accessory. It is an important ingredient in anti-aging skin care. Peptides can reduce the signs of aging by increasing collagen production, thereby making the skin thicker and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
Teamine eye complex is the #1 eye cream for dark circles. It contains Peptides, Grape Seed Oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Japanese Green Tea just to name a few of the powerful antioxidants. In addition to Teamine eye complex ability to diminish under eye circles, it reduces the puffiness around the eyes, smoothes the look of fine lines and wrinkles and tightens and firms the skin. The best part is it is hypoallergenic and fragrance free.
NON SURGICAL NECK LIFT
Sagging skin and wrinkling of the neck are one of the earliest signs of aging. Revision Nectifirm, which contains lipopeptide, can improve this situation by firming the skin by 40% in less than 30 days, and tripeptide, which increases collagen production making skin appear, thicker, firmer and smoother. It also contains a blend of Bamboo, Silica, English Pea Extract and Glucoseamine which increases moisturization and firms and tones the neck. If you have significant sagging skin Revision Nectifirm will not correct your problem, but if you are in the early stages of loose skin and creases on your neck, then Revision Nectifirm may improve your appearance and help postpone the need for a surgical neck lift.
