Is taking diet pills like Phentermine and getting a tummy tuck safe?

I do not advised continuing to take any diet pills prior to surgery. These pill can cause high blood pressure and a high heart rate during surgery. I instruct patients to stop taking these medications 2-4 weeks before having surgery.
Also, I do not advise dieting prior to surgery. Poor nutrition can affect healing time.
Hope this helps

How do I know if I need a Tummy Tuck or Liposuction?
Posted by Andrew Jimerson II, M.D. on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 9:36 pm
Many patients are confused about whether they need a tummy tuck or liposuction. It is easy to think about it like this. Liposuction is a volume reduction operation, while a tummy tuck is a skin and abdominal wall tightening operation. If you have good skin quality and muscle tone, but just have a small area of stubborn fat that is resistance to diet and exercise, then you are probably a candidate for liposuction. However, If you have poor skin quality (stretch marks) and a weak abdominal wall (from pregnancy) then you are most likely a candidate for a tummy tuck. Depending on your particular case, your plastic surgeon may suggest a combination of liposuction and tummy tuck to achieve the desired result.
Before your consultation, look at yourself in the mirror. Decide what bothers you the most. Determine if you just want to rejuvenate your abdomen, or if you also want to improve you love handles and upper back roll. If you let your plastic surgeon know your priorities up front, he/she will be in a better position to design a solution that meets your goals and your budget. Hope this Helps. Thanks
Tummy Tuck: When is it Safe to Exercise

In general, I tell my patient that they can do light exercise (treadmill, etc) 4 weeks after a tummy tuck. I prefer that my patient wait 6-8 weeks before doing any strenuous exercise.
How much does a Mommy makeover cost?

It is impossible to give you the exact cost of a Mommy Makeover because it entail so many variables. If your breast lack fullness, then you may only need a breast augmentation; but if they are saggy or your nipples point downward, you may also want a breast lift. Some people only need a c-section scar revision, while others need a full tummy tuck and liposuction in various places. The bottom line is that everyone is different. Before going to see you plastic surgeon, figure out what bothers you and rank them according to importance. Next, find a plastic surgeon who you feel comfortable with. Look at their before and after photos. Remember, Choose your plastic surgeon based on technical skill, bedside manner and patient outcomes. Never pick a surgeon based on price.
Hope that helps

Do you offer tummy tucks at the time of delivery or c-section?

Many of my patients want to know if I will do a tummy tuck at the time of the delivery or while they are getting a
C-section. In general, getting an elective tummy tuck at the time of birth is not a good idea. First, there is the increased risk of complications when combining a tummy tuck with a C-section. Secondly, due to the hormones that are produced and the time of pregnancyand delivery, the abdominal tissues and abdominal muscles their baseline state. Finally, going through a recovery period when you have a newborn child can prove to be very difficult.
